Hello everyone,
How was your week? For us, this week was certainly much better than the previous! Naomi's a lot better, we did some DIY at home for Teacher's Day, we finalised our renovation plans for our new home, Naomi had a party today celebrating Teacher's Day and Book week at school, and we're looking forward to a family cruise with my parents tomorrow! Certainly an exciting week for us!
Tomorrow's Teacher's Day in Singapore, and here's a shoutout to all the teachers out there. Thank you for what you do, and for choosing this profession to help our children grow up to be who they want to be, and guiding them along their path. Your work is certainly appreciated by all parents! At least I know I do!
I will also take this chance to thank the teachers who have taught me and guided me so many years ago, and Naomi's pre-school teachers, who are doing a fantastic job! Here's a quote dedicated to you teachers:

"It takes a big heart to help shape little minds."
Inspired by this lovely quote and another gift idea which I found on Pinterest, I have designed and created some bookmarks attached to little cookie bags for Naomi's teachers this year:
A little DIY always puts me in a good mood :) I just love to craft things!
If you like my little bookmark, you can download the image for your very own DIY project Bookmark here:

After cutting them out and sticking them together, I laminated the bookmarks and punched a hole on top, adding a ribbon for the finish! Voila! You can just print a one sided bookmark if you prefer that too! Should you choose not to laminate, just use a thicker card stock for the bookmark! :)
PARTY STYLIN' THURSDAY: CHOOSING THEMES & INSPIRATION
Back to our main topic on Thursdays. Party Stylin'! This week, I will share some themes and inspirations I have for my daughter's birthday coming up in October. Yes, it's dangerously close, and I have yet to confirm her theme! *gasp* At least this year, my plan is not to have a big birthday party like previous years but an intimate one and a party with her school friends in class. Nevertheless, I am leaning towards the "My Little Pony" theme which she seems to be her current fascination, or rather, particularly a pony named Rainbow Dash. All thanks to a DVD I borrowed from the National Library, she had watched it everyday we borrowed for at least twice a day. Till now the main theme song is still playing in my head, although we returned it 2-3 weeks ago!
Here's a pic of Rainbow Dash:

I do like this character too! She has a bubbly personality, and her athleticism, mischievousness, love of reading and shades really reminds me of Naomi! Maybe that's why she likes this cutie so much!
The other theme in running for her 3rd Birthday is the Madagascar / Safari theme! This is due to her love of animals and also the Madagascar movies. When I say she loves animals, it could really be an understatement. If you were to ask Naomi who she was, or the ridiculously obvious, yet favourite of strangers "Are you a girl?", do not expect a yes, or a normal answer. She may surprise you with " I am a X," - just substitute X with any given animal. Today, she chose to be a Tiger for her party in school where they were supposed to dress up as book characters from their favourite book. Thank goodness we bought a tiger costume souvenir from the Safari we visited in Bali earlier this year.
Yesterday she was a Pink panther, and chose to wear pink pajamas to sleep. She has also assumed a persona of jaguar, cat, dog, lion, donkey, horse, elephant, and even dinosaurs. You get the idea.
So here's a roundup of some awesome and stylish parties and ideas with the 2 themes I found so far:
