SNOW!
The (very late) morning view that greeted us on the 2nd day! Certainly felt so magical, that it almost seems like Moscow was welcoming us by giving us the only day of snowfall the entire time we were there. This was at dawn of day, at about 11am... Nights are sure long here, as the sun goes down around 5 + pm. It was the first time I saw actual snow falling, as it was little Naomi's. We giggled and played as we look up to see snow falling and landing on our noses, went down with a small bucket and spade to play with snow as we did with sand. Made some tiny snowmen that didn't last long as Naomi was too excited running around and trampling over them as soon as she finished making one! Definitely an awesome day for the whole family.
The rest of the trip there wasn't any snowfall unfortunately, but I was thankful that it was not as cold as my husband warned me it would be. I think Moscow was just being nice to us tropical girls... Haha! The Russians are worried though, as there might not be enough snow for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics coming up in February!

FAMILY BONDING !
I love that we get so much family bonding time too. I'm not talking about visiting places together as you would on a lot of holidays (to see all the different attractions). As this trip was mainly to visit our relatives there, we also have a lot of time to ourselves. Besides playing in the snow, we took long walks together, played my hubby's old Lego sets, read stories to Naomi, and had our first outing to an arcade as a family. (Go figure, all the way in Moscow!) A very memorable holiday indeed.
White Christmas
Certainly one the best Christmases ever. A white Christmas, cosying up next to the fireplace, with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and enjoying this all with your family. Only wished my parents and brother were there too! That would have been the perfect Christmas!
I would also like to take the chance to thank Pavel's family for hosting us this trip. I believe that the Russians are probably the most gracious and hospitable hosts in the world! Спасибо!
Thanks for reading about our little adventure in Moscow, and hope you enjoyed the photos!
Next post I will write about our fabulous cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas!
Stay tuned!
